Steps From the Galleries, the Plaza and the Thursday Art Walk
Downtown San José del Cabo is the cultural side of Los Cabos, and you’re in the middle of it. The gallery-dense Art District sits about 200 meters away, and the seasonal Thursday-evening Art Walk fills those streets with open studios, music and crowds. Restaurants, bars and artisan shops line the blocks around the plaza and church, all within an easy stroll of your door. Because you can leave the car parked underground and simply walk, an in-town base like this one is made for slow evenings out.
Where to Actually Swim
Cardinal Living is not beachfront — the coast is about a 10-minute drive — and it’s worth knowing that many of the San José hotel-zone beaches on the Sea of Cortez are not safe for swimming because of a strong undertow. For calm water, head to La Playita, a roped-off swimming area beside the Puerto Los Cabos marina just east of town, or to the sheltered cove at Palmilla along the Corridor. Both make easy day trips, and your driver can arrange round-trip transport whenever you want to trade downtown for the water.
