Planning Your SJD-to-La-Paz Transfer
Flying into Los Cabos, Not La Paz? No Problem
La Paz has a small airport of its own (LAP), but most visitors from the U.S. and Canada land at Los Cabos International (SJD), where the international flight options are far wider. That makes the SJD-to-La-Paz run one of our most-requested long-distance transfers. Book it in advance and you skip the car-rental counter and the guesswork — your driver meets you inside the terminal and takes you straight up the peninsula to the hotel.
Door to Door, Up Highway 1
The drive north to La Paz takes roughly two and a half hours along the Transpeninsular Highway (Mexico 1), rolling through desert and mountain country before the bay opens up ahead of you. Because it’s a genuine cross-peninsula trip rather than a short hotel-zone hop, a pre-booked private SUV pays off: it leaves the moment you land, holds your luggage and any gear, and delivers you to the hotel entrance without the mid-route stops a shared shuttle may make.
Arriving After Dark?
Plenty of flights into SJD land in the evening, which means part of the drive to La Paz happens at night. That’s all the more reason to have your ride arranged ahead of time. We track your arrival flight, so a delay doesn’t leave you stranded, and your driver — licensed, insured, and bilingual — knows the highway and the turnoff to the waterfront after dark.
